Adelaide String Duo

Shelter policy
Musicians at small wedding

Our instruments are extremely valuable and they may be damaged by weather, especially sun during the Summer months.

  • It’s best if we can be in a generally sheltered area such as under some trees or a veranda
  • The sheltered area needs to be large enough to cover both of us and our instruments for the entirety of our booking time.
  • Alternatively clients often provide cafe umbrellas. We generally need two standard umbrellas to create enough shade. Your venue provider can often help with suitable shelter solutions.
  • We do not perform in the rain, and cafe umbrellas do not provide adequate shelter from rain. We encourage our clients to organise access to a sheltered venue as a back-up plan.

If our instruments are in danger of rain exposure or direct sun we will not perform and our fee will still need to be paid.

As you can see we’re quite serious about this point since about 70% of our engagements are outdoors. Please feel free to contact us if you’re unsure.
